Gas truck ride

Grandpa Friedrichs had to make a quick run with the gas truck, so John got to go along for the first time. Nathan was not quite sure of the loud, big truck but was very upset when John got to go and he didn't!

The boys' first Twins Game

We took the boys to their first ever Twins game at the Metrodome. We figured we had to let them experience the Dome at least once before the new stadium is ready. With not being sure how the boys would fair we took them on a Sunday afternoon and sat in nosebleed seats just to the right of center field.
The game and the boys temperament were great. The Twins beat the Angels 3-1 and the boys enjoyed the game so much that we were able to stay the whole game. Nathan got excited and clapped at everything and the boys loved the cheers. Nathan even called "hit a home run" when Justin Morneau got up to bat and he actually hit a home run!
Dome food was a big hit too . . .plenty of popcorn, cotton candy and of course, Dome Dogs!
It was fun to go to the game as a family, but I do think I saw a lot more of it when just Joe and I attended!

Knuckle Sandwiches

Daddy and John went to swimming lessons (which by the way John loved!). It was dark when they left the building. John looked at Daddy and said “I get scared in the dark.” Daddy (of course) responded with a very adult response, “Don’t worry. If we see any bad guys, I will just give them a knuckle sandwich!” John thought this was a great idea.

When they arrived home John explained to me that Daddy would be giving bad guys knuckle sandwiches and John would then give them bad juice! Obviously, he didn’t quite understand the meaning of the phrase. The next day he also shared the story with his teachers at daycare and anyone who would listen. The story expanded to include icky Pizza as well.

Now every week as we leave the gym after swimming lessons, John starts to talk about knuckle sandwiches. And now Mommy is allowed to give bad guy knuckle sandwiches as well!

Pretty

Aunt Mickey was painting her toenails and somehow this task included Nathan. Well Nathan now has one bright red big toenail painted. Every time we take his socks off, Nathan proclaims “Pretty!” and lifts up his foot to show us.

I of course think it is cute, but I don’t think Daddy likes it as much as me! I should probably take it off as it has now been a week, but I laugh every time I hear “Pretty.”

Coloring Easter Eggs

The boys and I had lots of fun coloring Easter eggs. We had about 13 colors and only had 15 eggs! Oh well, we had lots of choices. And the good news is that we only broke 2 and we had really pretty fingers when we were done!

The Clown

It was circus week at daycare and John got to paint his face like a clown. He was so proud of it and refused to let me wash it off before bed. I was able to compromise though. He agreed that if I took a picture we could wash his face.
