No eat Playdoh, Grandma

Grandma and Grandpa Haider were in town and brought some interesting looking cookie dough . . .it was BLUE! John and Grandma set out to make some cookies, but John insisted they were playing with Playdoh. At one point Grandma told John he could eat the cookie dough and John replied matter-of-factly "No eat Playdoh, Grandma." It some convincing, but finally John realized it was indeed cookie dough and not Playdoh. Then we had to deal with blue teeth, a blue tongue and a little blue drool! Hopefully the next time he plays with Playdoh he won't think he can eat that too!

John waits patiently to play with the cookie dough!

Grandma shows John how to roll out the cookie dough.

John and Grandma both use cookie cutters to cut out penguins, sharks and flowers.

After the cookies are all cut out and in the oven, Grandma finds time to snuggle with Nathan too!

Visiting Daddy at the Fire Department

Daddy had to work all day at the Fire Department so Mommy and the boys went to visit him. John loves to visit the fire department because he gets to climb all over the trucks.

Today John even got to "drive" the fire truck! He was all smiles the entire time as this was a first for him.

I Saw Sharks!

We took advantage of a Saturday at home to visit Underwater Adventures.
And John had a blast!

On the way into the underwater exhibit we walked through the forest that shows Minnesota's common animals. John got to pose with a friendly beaver!

John rode on Daddy's shoulders through the tunnel, therefore John got a very close view of the aquatic life. He was about 2 inches from the tunnel glass. At one point a giant stingray swam over the tunnel and over John's head. He thought it was cool until it was right above his head and then suddenly he was very afraid. I would be too though if my nose was only inches away from a stingray!John loved the Sharks and was just in awe. The next few days whenever someone asked him what we did over the weekend he would exclaim "I saw sharks!"

Nathan even enjoyed the tunnel. He was snug in his stroller, but had a great view of all the colorful fish and the sharks that were swimming overhead. Sure beats the fake the fish that swim around in the toy attached to his crib!

Mommy and John pose inside the giant shark jaws!

John even got to play on a giant turtle statue, dig for seashells in the sand, and dance on a pirate's ship to some funky music. Lots of fun for a 2-year-old!

Detroit Lakes with the Schulzetenbergs

We headed to DL again for the annual Schulzetenburg get together and we had lots of fun The pool was again a huge hit for John. He was jumping off the edge into our arms and putting his face in the water. There is no fear of water in this kid. Nathan got his first taste of a pool as well.

John and Grandpa

John thought it was funny to wear a spiky ball stretched over his head. Note how it pulls his eyes.
