God, take the snow back

The snow has been melting and every semi-nice day John asks if it is warm enough to run in the sprinkler. So I explain that all the snow needs to be gone, we need to put the winter coats away and it needs to get warm enough to wear shorts.

Well this morning as we piled into the car to head for daycare, we were met by a most devastating site: snow!

John was not happy about the snow and as we drove along he said " God, can you please take the snow back up in the air? I really need to run in the sprinkler when it gets warm!"

The good news is the snow is melting almost as soon as it hits the ground. This makes John quite happy!

Spring is here! Let's hit the Park!

It may only be March, but in Minnesota when it even starts to get slightly warm you head outside! Grandpa and Grandma Friedrichs were visiting so we headed to a nearby park to enjoy the beautiful weather. And we weren't the only ones as the park was filled with families.

I think the boys would swing for hours if we let them. It is definitely their favorite thing to do at the park.

How about some carrots?

John refuses to eat veggies, but I keep trying to change his mind. Most days I send two fruits for his lunch at daycare, but occasionally I try to sneak in a veggie. John used to like carrots so I packed carrots today . . .and hoped for the best.

When I opened his lunch box at the end of the day, I was not surprised to see the carrots were not eaten. However, they were now accompanied by a post it note that read, "John asked me to write you a note, 'John does not like carrots!' - quoted"

I couldn't help but laugh. I guess I may need to try a new veggie!

Tickle My Toes

Grandpa and Grandma Haider came to watch the boys while Daddy and Mommy got to go out on the town. However before we left we were witness to a tremendous amount of giggling.
Nathan was sitting on Grandpa's lap and he did not have any socks on. Grandpa would grab his feet and rub them on his whiskers, which in turn made Nathan squeal incredibly hard. And the moment he would stop Nathan would push his feet back to Grandpa's chin for another dose.

And with all this commotion, you know that John will also want to take part. So he jumped on Grandpa's lap for his turn of tickling. And he laughed just as hard as Nathan.

A Visit to the Dinosaurs

These days John loves two things: Super Heroes and Dinosaurs. And therefore, Nathan loves these two things as well. But in his case, any athletic balls top the list.
Since dinosaurs have been a major theme in the house these days, we thought it would be fun to head to the Science Museum to check out the "real" thing. We headed out early on a Saturday morning and it was great because the crowds were not bad.
John was ecstatic the moment he glimpsed his first dinosaur. And he was calling out all the names: T-Rex, Triceratops, Long necks, stegosaurus etc. It was so fun to see the excitement that filled him.
He especially liked the lever that allowed him to open and close the mouth of the T-Rex. Daddy did have to help, but it was still a great time.
Nathan loved the exhibit as well and was smiling from ear to ear and pointing to everything.
We did check out some of the other exhibits, but none matched the excitement of the dinosaurs.
