Today on the way to daycare I started to yawn.
This prompted John to ask"Why are you yawning, Mommy?"
"I'm tired because I stayed up late," I replied.
"You should go to bed when I do. Then you won't be tired" said John.
I replied, "I know, honey. Maybe Mommy should come to school today with you and take a nap?"
There was a short pause and John replied matter of factly, "No, Mommy ... that's weird."
This caught me totally off guard and made me chuckle. I never quite know what he will say next. However, when we got to daycare John did ask if I was going to come nap with him. When I told him I couldn't he was sad and this only proved that he is not too big yet to want Mommy to snuggle with him. I made him feel better by promising we could take a nap together this weekend.
The problem is talk is cheap . . . getting John to take a nap on weekends is never easy!
