Happy Birthday, John!
John is two years old and we celebrated the day with just our family. John had cupcakes with two candles in them and this year he actually tried to blow them out. Then he opened his presents from Mommy, Daddy and Nathan. His favorite present was the set of John Deere Tractors with animals. He played with them all evening. And he was such a good boy that he even shared them with Nathan. Nathan wasn't too interested though!
In preparation for the big 2 year mark, we tried to get John to tell us how old he was. Well, we were also working on teaching him his name. When we asked him all old he was he would get kind of confused and say "John Friedrichs." And then we would correct him and say "No you are two." And John would insist that "No I John Friedrichs." This conversation took place many times in the weeks leading up to his birthday. However the day of his birthday it finally clicked and when asked how old he was he proudly stated "Two!"
