Highchair cat nap

Nathan loves his food, so the fact that he fell asleep when food was present was very odd! Worth a photo though . . .

The Season is upon us . . .

Baseball season has arrived which means the Friedrichs Family is on the go every weekend for the next few months. Joe loves playing ball and John LOVES watching Daddy. So it is fun for all of us!
Nathan's first baseball game was a big hit. . . He ate a little, took a nap, and spent some quality time in his stroller. I don't think he took in much of the game, but was all smiles when he got to Daddy after the game for a photo op.
John waits patiently throughout the game until the moment we tell him the game is over and he can go on the field. He dashes out with his bat, ball and glove before we can even finish our sentence. Usually the players are still shaking hands with the other team when John darts onto the field in search of Daddy and Uncle Bill. As soon as he is on the field, he grabs a way-too-large helmet and begs to play ball.
Who really needs to see when you are batting??

Fun with Laundry Baskets

Kids and Laundry baskets equal lots of fun! John and Nathan both have a great time playing in empty laundry baskets. Nathan really likes to empty them out too . . .which isn't much fun for Mom and Dad.
Looks like the boys are developing their Dad's love for the camera. As soon as I snapped this picture they both stuck their tongues out at me . . .nice!

Better Batter Baseball

Mommy and Daddy are big softies. It is not a special day, but we bought John a new toy: Better Batter Baseball. All the way through the store John talked about the toy and he could hardly wait for Daddy to put it together when we got home. He was swinging at the thing before Daddy had even finished.

John was very excited about the Better Batter once it was all put together. When he touched his bat to the red dot on the plate it played all kinds of baseball themed songs while the cage of balls lifted up to the arm. When the arm grabbed a ball, John knew just what to do . . .swing for the fences. Every time he hit the ball he would drop his bat, flex his muscles and saw "GRRRRRR." It was hilarious. When the "GRRRR" got old he opted for yelling "Home run!" and running around the room. Hours of fun!

Nathan Making a mess

Nathan can entertain himself for quite some time. Whenever we bring out a new toy, his eyes light up and he squeals with delight. And then he heads into chewing on, hitting, or moving the toys. He just wants to figure it out.

Fun at the Park

Grandpa & Grandma Friedrichs came down to visit for the day. It was so gorgeous out we decided to head out to the park.
Here's the family with our new double stroller. Spendy little thing . ..but at least we got a deal at Once Upon a Child! And it works great for the boys!

John Loves the swings and screamed for Daddy to push him higher and higher.

The higher he went, the bigger he smiled!

Crawling on the jungle gym is tons of fun. John is quite a little monkey and has no fear.

Grandpa was there to catch John as he came down the slide.

Nathan got to hang out in the slide a bit as well.

Grandma and Nathan do some swinging!

Emptying Baskets

The best way to entertain Nathan is to give him a basket full of toys, clothes, books, anything. He loves to pull things out of the basket one at a time. Sometimes he actually looks at what he is pulling out and other times he simply throws it aside and heads for the next item. Now if we could only get him to put them back IN the basket!
