John's first fish

Daddy, John and Grandpa pose with John's first ever fish!
Grandpa Friedrichs bought John his first fishing rod and John was thrilled to try fishing. They dug up some worms and then headed down to the dock. As the sun started to set they hadn't gotten anything and Grandpa was worried John would get impatient. However, then the bobber dropped and all the excitement began.

Daddy and Grandpa held the rod and instructed John to reel the fish in. Everyone was surprised when the fish was pulled to the surface and was actually a pretty good size sun fish. Mommy, Nathan and Grandma were in the cabin and could hear John exclaim " I caught a Sunny One!" This was shouted over a dozen times.

The fish stayed on the hook until Mommy, Nathan and Grandma got to the dock to check out the catch of the day. John had the biggest grin on his face and was swinging the poor fish in and out of the water.

After a few Kodak moments, Daddy decided it was time to set the fishy free.

John was so excited to cast again and the moment the bobber hit the water he exclaimed " I caught another one!" Although he really didn't and we all laughed because he was so thrilled.

Within about 5 minutes though the bobber dropped again and the excitement started all over. John reeled the second fish in (with Daddy and Grandpa's help!) and was swinging it onto the dock. Well the fish almost smacked Mommy in the face as she tried to take some pictures.

As Mommy jumped out of the way, the fish let go of the hook and fell into freedom. John didn't care though and continued to grin and exclaim " I caught another Sunny one!"

Quite a fun day for our little fisherman!
